Let Your Joy
Lead You to Healing
What are your joys? Gardening, traveling, singing, playing the piano? Mine include yoga, dancing, and music. Yoga is not only a joy for me; it is one of my self-healing practices, along with meditation and play. Spending time each day in one, if not more, of our joys is where healing often occurs.

"CRADLE YOGA"
Studio
Yoga means "union" of mind, body and spirit. The most effective way to achieve this union is through our breathing. Focusing on our breath keeps us in the present moment, preventing our minds from wandering to the past or future, where anxiety and depression live. This present moment awareness helps to calm us, both mentally and physically, reaffirming our spirituality and allowing us to actually live in the now.
Yoga involves a blending of slow, graceful movements performed to soft, soothing music that establishes harmony between our bodies and minds. We create a sacred, spiritual space within ourselves during a yoga practice, while we physically lengthen and strengthen our spine, the body’s lifeline. As we elongate our spinal column, we can actually increase our height by opening up each vertebra just a small fraction of an inch
This spinal alignment and opening, combined with the gentle stretching of all our muscles and focused deep breathing, increases our physical and mental stamina and improves our body’s posture, balance, strength and flexibility.
Specific breathing exercises are used the last few minutes of class, designed to center and calm our minds, ridding ourselves of mental and emotional clutter, including worry, self-criticism, stress and other unhappy or unhealthy thoughts.
You will emerge from a yoga class feeling incredibly rejuvenated, yet relaxed, ready to face any challenge with renewed and healthy self-confidence.
